Olympic diving champion Sammy Lee, 92, reported missing

Huntington Beach police are asking for help in finding two-time Olympic gold medalist Samuel “Sammy” Lee, 92, who has been missing since Monday.

Lee is described as a male Asian, 4 feet 11 and 122 pounds.

According to a news release, Lee left his Huntington Beach home around 3 p.m. Monday to go swimming at Los Caballeros in Fountain Valley. His family has not heard from him since. He reportedly suffers from dementia and heart problems.

According to police, Lee bought gas at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mojave.

Police said Lee was driving a tan 2011 Mercedes 300 with a license plate of 2GOLDS.

Lee won his first gold medal in diving during the 1948 Olympic games in London and his second in the 1952 games in Finland.
