The world lost a wonderful person on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. Barbara was a loving mother, caring friend, accomplished career woman and dedicated volunteer who always put others before herself. Barbara lived in CDM for 52 years and never tired of its beauty and beaches. She cherished summers at her home in Lake Tahoe, surrounded by her extended family of loved ones and lovely view of the lake. Barbara had a long, successful career in the insurance industry including 13 years as Risk Manager for The Irvine Company. When she retired she began 23 years at Hoag Hospital as a loyal volunteer. Barbara was an adventurous traveler and enjoyed barge, bicycle, skiing, sailing and European holidays with dear ones. She was the only septuagenarian crew member on her last Alaska Eagle voyage to Tahiti and was skiing into her 80’s. Barbara’s generous ways were an inspiration to us and will live on as her legacy. We will miss her dearly and remember her often. She is survived by sons Gary and Greg Edwards and grandson Jacob Edwards. A celebration of her life is planned for Friday April 5 at 10:00 am at the Pacific View Mortuary Chapel. The Mardan School in Irvine was dear to her heart if you would like to make a donation.
