Annual Easter egg hunt returns
The annual Easter egg hunt will once again take place on Sunday at Laguna Beach High School’s baseball field.
The Easter Bunny will stop by at 12:30 p.m. for pictures. The egg hunt — some 2,000 eggs will be filled with candy and then hidden — will start promptly at 1 p.m. on the field of the high school, 625 Park Ave.
The event, sponsored by Laguna Beach American Legion Post 222 and the Women’s Auxiliary, is free and open to children 9 and younger.
Several church services also will take place this weekend in town:
•The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will host Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. at the church, 429 Cypress Drive. The church will celebrate with the ritual of Flower Communion. Bring a single flower to worship and participate in Flower Communion.
•Good Friday service will take place at 7 p.m. at Church of the Sea, 468 Legion St. The church will host an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. at the end of Moulton Meadows Park, at Balboa and Capistrano avenues. An Easter Sunday service also will take place at the church from 8:30 a.m. and 10: 30 a.m.
•Neighborhood Congregational Church will host an Easter sunrise worship at 6:30 a.m. at Alta Laguna Park, just off Alta Laguna Boulevard near the Top of the World neighborhood. Easter Sunday service also will take place at 10 a.m. at the church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive. Following that, at 11:15 a.m., the church will host an Easter egg hunt on the church’s playground.
•St. Mary’s Episcopal Church will host a 5:30 a.m. Easter service vigil and 10:30 a.m. Easter service. Both are at the church, 428 Park Ave.
•Laguna Presbyterian Church hosts a Good Friday service at noon at the church, 415 Forest Ave. Easter services are at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the church.
•The Laguna Beach United Methodist Church will host Easter services at 6 a.m. at Main Beach and 10 a.m. at the church, 21632 Wesley Drive.
