Police arrest burglary suspect
Newport Beach police arrested a man they believe stole various pieces of jewelry from a home, police said Tuesday.
Marvion Templeton, 18, of Los Angeles was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary after police received a call of a home burglary in the 1000 block of Cliff Drive about 10:30 a.m. Monday, the Newport Beach Police Department said.
After the initial call, another resident reported that a man was knocking on doors and trying to open them, police said.
After police contacted Templeton, he took off on foot, but police detained him near Tustin and El Modena avenues, police said.
Templeton was booked at the Newport Beach Police Department Jail.
