Briefly In Education: Mobile resource center parks at Boys & Girls Club
Resources in Motion (RIM), a mobile family resource center, will now come to the Boys & Girls Club on the fourth Friday of each month, according to a news release from the club.
RIM is operated by the Raise Foundation and offers programs and services that deal with family advocacy, domestic violence prevention, nutrition, diabetes education and treatment, and obesity, according to the release.
RIM first arrived in Laguna on Feb. 27, when a representative from Kaiser Permanente helped families with questions about health insurance and enrollment. In addition, representatives from Latino Health Access came to help families with mental health support and workshops.
“We are delighted to be chosen by the Raise Foundation as a site for their RIM program,” Terry Anne Barman, the club’s Early Childhood and Family Services director, said in a statement.
RIM’s next visit will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 28. Services are open to children and residents of all ages. For more information, call Barman at (949) 494-2535 ext. 107 or e-mail [email protected].
