Umami Burger to open at The Camp
A little more than a week since Valhalla Table closed its doors, Los Angeles-based Umami Burger has announced it will take the restaurant’s former location at The Camp.
In a press release Monday, the burger joint based around the fifth taste said it will bring another location to Orange County, which will open by the end of the year. Umami Burger has slated another restaurant to open in Laguna Beach early this year.
Founder and chief executive Adam Fleischman, formerly in the wine business, previously told the Coastline Pilot that he tried to apply the same multilayer palette to his burgers, whose toppings range from chorizo, Manchego cheese and pimento aioli to ahi tuna and pickled ginger. However, those toppings — from their Los Feliz and Hermosa Beach locations — might not be seen in Costa Mesa because each menu is curated specifically to the environment and tastes of the location’s community.
