Newport Beach Hyatt manager moves to H.B. location

Paul Devitt, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, has been selected to be the general manager of the Hyatt’s Huntington Beach location, according to a news release.

Devitt officially moved into his new role at the Surf City resort Jan. 1. He held his former position at the Newport Beach resort for nearly five years.

Devitt is also a former chairman and vice chairman of Visit Newport’s board of directors.

“The wonderful thing about this is that I’ve had the opportunity to be in Southern California and this area for the last five years,” Devitt said Thursday. “So I really bring to the resort an understanding of this area, the marketplace and the corporations we have in Southern California.”

Devitt’s role with the company goes back more than 20 years, including executive positions at Hyatts in Pittsburgh, New York City, San Francisco and Calgary, Canada.
