Katsuya by S+ARCK Laguna Beach donated half the proceeds from its first lunch service Monday to the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach.

The total came out to $2,419.

Mayor Toni Iseman and Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach Executive Director Pam Estes were there for the ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday, along with Katsuya General Manager Jenny Morinaka.

Katsuya is at 858 S. Coast Hwy.

Artist hosts lecture on historical art

Janet Blake, curator of collections at the Laguna Art Museum, will discuss historical California art during a lecture from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Blake will touch on the permanent collection at the museum, “Landscape and Figuration from the Collection,” and talk about the artists, many of whom were from Laguna Beach.

The lecture is free with museum admission or for museum members. Laguna Art Museum is at 307 Cliff Drive.

Native American camp starts Monday

Journeys to the Past, a camp focused on teaching the culture of Native Americans, runs Monday through Aug. 5 at Crystal Cove.

Participating children can do hands-on activities such as basket weaving and making gourd rattles, rock art, arrowheads and shell necklaces, among others.

The camp is geared toward kids ages 5 to 11.
