Costa Mesa has resumed its Care-Pac program for the 1^st Battalion, 5^th Marines.

The 1/5 Marines are stationed in Afghanistan, and monetary donations to help offset the cost of shipping items there are appreciated, city officials said.

Among suggested items to donate are toothpaste and toothbrushes, dental floss, disposable razors and shaving cream, soap, shampoo, jerky, granola bars, Vienna sausages, instant coffee, canned nuts, sardines, smoked oysters, lip balm, hand lotion and sunscreen.

Items can be dropped off in the lobby of City Hall, 77 Fair Drive.
