Costa Mesa woman among 4 hikers rescued
Four Orange County residents, including a 23-year-old woman from Costa Mesa, were rescued in the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles County after being reported lost on Sunday, according to media reports.
Authorities said the group had been lost since the weekend there, but was found at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday north of the Northfork Canyon.
The group was airlifted out by helicopter and evaluated by medical staff once they landed, said Capt. Sam Padilla of Los Angeles County Fire. The four appeared fine and were released to their families, he said.
