Prelitz to address Business Club
The Laguna Beach Business club will meet at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hotel Laguna. This month’s topic will be: “What will Laguna do when the oil runs out?”
Chris Prelitz, green building designer/ builder, sustainability consultant, author, and 25-year Laguna Beach resident, will be giving a presentation on “Peak Oil” and its impact to Laguna Beach. Numerous U.S. cities, the U.S. military, and even entire nations are preparing for the inevitability of the end of cheap, easy-to-get oil.
Prelitz has been a leader of the sustainability movement for more than 20 years, having built the fist solar-powered home in Laguna Beach, co-founded Transition Laguna, and is chairman of the City’s Environmental Committee. He is also president of the newly formed OC Green Chamber, and was showcased on the Discovery Channel’s Greenovate Show for his first net-zero remodel in Laguna Woods.
The Laguna Beach Business Club is a group of successful men and women from a broad spectrum of businesses. For more information, visit https://www.lagunabeachbusinessclub.com.
The club meets on the third Thursday of each month. The cost is $25 including a buffet breakfast. To attend, e-mail [email protected] or contact Rick Cirelli at (949) 494-4701 or [email protected].
