Firefighters, lifeguards serve
Editor’s note: This corrects an earlier version.
Newport Beach lifeguards and firefighters will be serving the community in a whole new way Thursday, when they work Ruby’s Diner in Corona del Mar to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
From 4 to 9 p.m., some of the city’s firefighters and lifeguards will be at the Ruby’s Diner, 2305 E. Coast Hwy., serving food.
The restaurant will donate 20% of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society when customers bring in a flier from the city’s website.
The flier is available at any Newport Beach fire station or on the fire department’s website at www.nbfd.net.
