Police arrest three
Four people were arrested at a weekend DUI checkpoint in Costa Mesa, police said.
Of the 1,093 cars that drove through the checkpoint at Harbor Boulevard and Peterson Place, police stopped 505 of them for further investigation.
Police arrested three on suspicion of driving under the influence and one for an outstanding warrant.
Thirty-three were given tickets for drivers license violations and 19 vehicles were impounded.
Two were cited after officers saw them switch seats between driver and passenger, police said.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by the state Office of Traffic Safety.
