Two arrested, but driver gets away
Two men were arrested Friday afternoon after an SUV tried to flee from California Highway Patrol in Costa Mesa. The driver escaped.
At about 1:30 p.m. a CHP deputy tried to pull over the SUV on the northbound 405 Freeway at Bristol Street, officials said.
The vehicle tried to get away instead, and exited on Fairview Road and turned left, said CHP Deputy Denise Quesada.
After the turn, two men got out of the vehicle and ran, Quesada said.
Police captured the two men, but the vehicle and its female driver got away, she said.
Information on the two men arrested was not immediately available.
