City launches new website, updated design
Huntington Beach has unveiled its new website with an updated design to make it more user-friendly, officials said. The new site has additional features and information, and will be a resource for residents, said spokeswoman Laurie Payne.
The site boasts pictures that represent the city; a live surf report and webcam; and easy access to popular features like public records search, the Sands Recreation guide and service requests for information residents can’t find online.
The revamp was done entirely in-house, Payne said. The city changed its address to www.huntingtonbeachca.gov, but residents can still use www.surfcity-hb.org. The move was to make the site more official and give users a higher comfort level, said Jack Marshall, information services director.
“This website has been about a year in the works, and hopefully, we’ll find it more user-friendly,” said City Administrator Fred Wilson.
