Laguna Beach freshman, Matthew Meisberger has received recognition for winning the 2009 season go-karting championship. Matthew received his award at the Los Angeles Kart Club banquet in December. Matt dominated the clubs popular HPV-2 Junior class with three wins and a total of 7 podiums.

“2009 was a really great season and a lot of fun, we were fast when it counted and stayed out of trouble the whole year. Thanks to The UPS Store, and all of my sponsors for their great support”. Matthew completed his championship season with a second place finish while driving with a broken wrist. “I needed a top 3 finish to clinch the championship so I had to race with my wrist taped up”. “Actually, it didn’t hurt as much as I expected”, Matt said.

Matt is sponsored by The UPS Store, Laguna Beach, UA Sign & Graphics, Secure RV Storage and LagunaOfficeSupply.com. Matthew has been racing go-karts competitively since age 6 with more than 50 wins and 100 podiums. The HPV-2 class (ages 12-15) compete on .7 mile road courses at speeds of up to 75 MPH.
