That’s Debatable

U.S. authorities have charged Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23, a Nigerian national, with trying to blow up a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day. As of Monday, the Department of Homeland Security had its color-coded threat level warning system set at orange, or “high,” for all domestic and international flights, and at yellow or “elevated” for the national threat level. Given the recent reports of an increase in alleged terrorist activities targeting the U.S. in 2009, do you think that the Obama administration should raise the general threat level to orange? And could the administration have done a better job of publicizing the new orange level designation for all flights?

It’s to be expected that a president who apologizes to Islamo-fascist regimes like Iran and provides the same judicial rights as U.S. citizens to terrorists in custody, would try to minimize the threat of terrorism to the American people.
