Police are looking for witnesses of a Monday traffic collision on Newport Boulevard.

According to police, a Chevy Trail Blazer westbound on Mesa Drive collided with a Ford Focus northbound on Newport Boulevard about 3:33 p.m.

The accident sent two drivers and a passenger to the hospital.

Police did not immediately specify who was driving.

Roberta Coder, 82, of Long Beach, was sent to Mission Hospital with critical injuries.

She died the next day of natural causes unrelated to the crash, coroner officials said.

Albert Calleros, 31, of Santa Ana, was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana with complaints of pain. Doris Striffler, 45, of Laguna Hills, broke her hip and was also taken to Western Medical Center.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
