KICKBALL MAKES A COMEBACK

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Many of us old enough to remember our junior high days remember playing kick ball during our lunch recess. If the word kickball triggers and old memory, or you just think that playing kickball sounds like fun, then you should join the new craze to hit Huntington Beach. World Adult Kickball Assn. is played at the Huntington Beach Sports Complex every Monday night.

Erin Dominquez, 26, of Yorba Linda, is a high school history teacher during the day and kickball captain by night.

“I’ve met new people, and it reminds me of what it was like to be a kid. I like coming out here and playing, because I’m letting the challenges of my work day go to the waist side,” Dominguez said.

Her team just recently held a friends, family and puppies night.

“Every Monday night we have a different theme. I think that’s what makes fun too. Just laughing at everybody and having a good time,” Dominquez said.

There are several teams that play every Monday night. Anyone interested in playing should check out WAKA’s website at www.kickball.com.
