School district hosts teen safety event

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District and the Newport Beach Police Department will hold a joint “Keep Your Teen Safe” information night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Corona del Mar High School, 2101 Eastbluff Drive, Newport Beach.

The presentation, which begins with a general session at 6:30 p.m., is intended for teens and adults.

Topics will include Internet safety, teens and alcohol, drunk driving and substance abuse, teen drivers, gang awareness, an update from the school resource officer, and a parent testimonial.

Information booths also will be on hand.
