The American Legion dedicated a new sign at Post 222 at the Legion Hall, 384 Legion St., on Saturday.

Legion officers and the ladies Auxiliary officers and members, led by Commander Dave Connell, dedicated the new sign, replacing the old sign identifying the building as the Veterans Memorial Community Center.

Adjutant Richard Moore explained the history and details of design and procurement of the new sign. With the completion of the Susi Q. Senior and Community Center, most of the community activities have been moved to the new facilities. The Legion has shared its facilities with community groups for more than 20 years. Though most of the groups have moved to the Susi Q., the Legion still shares portions of its facilities with the community, including No Square Theatre, Laguna Canyon Conservancy and several other service groups.
