UC Irvine to host Alzheimer’s panel
UC Irvine will present a free public panel discussion about Alzheimer’s Disease, including current therapies and potential stem cell treatments, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday on the campus in the Biological Sciences III building, Room 1200.
Robert Klein, chairman of the committee that oversees the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, will be the keynote speaker of “Stem Cell Research & Alzheimer’s Disease.â€
Frank LaFerla, director of UCI’s Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders, and colleague Malcolm Dick will participate in the panel discussion, moderated by Hans Keirstead, co-director of the school’s stem cell center.
