Diane celebrated her 76th birthday on January 23rd, 2009 with family

and close friends Les and Karen Jones. She journeyed to Heaven on

March 12th 2009. Diane was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her family

moved to Newport Beach, CA when she was a teenager. Graduating from

Newport Harbor High School in 1950, Diane started her 27 and

half year career with the County of Orange in 1955. During her first

17 years, she served for three different County Clerks. In 1972 Diane

was promoted to Assistant Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, where

she continued to serve until her retirement in 1983. Upon Diane’s

retirement, the Board of Supervisors passed a County Resolution to

commend Diane for continuously serving three County Clerks.

Efficiently and faithfully serving the Board of Supervisors of Orange

County. Diane was an artist and loved to collect antiques, cut

crystal and fine art. She also loved contemporary jazz, classical

music and opera. Diane is a champion Scrabble player and will be

missed by her Scrabble partners from Huntington Landmark. Her

greatest love was for Siamese cats and is survived by “Coco” a Seal

Point Siamese. Her parents Edward J. Sedinger, Lucy S. Sedinger

LaPorte and younger sister Dona I. Ashen precede her in death. She is

survived by nieces; Catherine L. Bitetti and Patricia Diane Zimmerman

(David). She is also survived by nephews; James J. Ashen Jr. (Kris),

Michael S. Ashen (Shawndra), Edward J. Ashen and Charles H. Ashen

(Cindy), 5 great nieces & 9 great nephews. Diane was very smitten

with the men in her life, especially her nephew-in-law David. David

and Patty’s care and unconditional love for Aunt Diane was

immeasurable. Diane’s earthly remains will be interned with her

parents and sister at Pacific View Memorial Park overlooking the

Ocean in the hills above Corona Del Mar, CA. There will be a

graveside memorial on April 5, 2009 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers,

the family requests that donations be sent in her memory to:
