LOS ANGELES — Senior Eric Deragisch and junior Cory Olson each had a career-high four runs batted in, while junior Jeff Cusick and senior Ben Orloff added four hits apiece to lead the Anteaters in the nonconference game Tuesday at Page Stadium.

The 19 runs were a season-high for No. 8-ranked UCI (17-7), which takes a four-game winning streak into its Big West Conference weekend series at No. 1-ranked Cal State Fullerton, beginning Friday.

Deragisch was three for five to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. He is 13 for 27 in his last six games.

Freshman Ronnie Shaeffer went three for five with an RBI and freshman Jordan Fox had a pinch-hit, three-run triple.

Freshman Matt Summers made his season debut, pitching a scoreless ninth to close out senior starter Noel Avison’s second victory.

UCI scored seven in the first and seven in the ninth. It has averaged 11.7 runs its last seven games, including six wins.

LMU (16-13) had won eight straight.

LAGUNA NIGUEL — The Anteaters won the team title by 18 shots and UCI junior John Chin was second with a 54-hole total of two-under-par 214 at El Niguel Country Club.

Michael Im and Sean Shahi both tied for sixth (223), while UCI teammate Roberto Francioni (225) was 16th.

Geoff Gonzalez of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo was the individual winner (212).

COSTA MESA — The host Lions took Game 1 of the Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader split behind a three-hit shutout by sophomore Patricia Olvera.

Sarah Howe was two for three with two runs batted in to key the victory for Vanguard (19-18, 4-10 in conference).

No. 3-ranked Point Loma, which scored two in the 10th to win Game 2, is 33-4, 13-3.

DOVE CANYON — UC Irvine senior Jane Chin shot a tournament-low 68 Tuesday to move into a tie for the lead with 18 holes to play today at Dove Canyon Country Club.

UCI is in fifth as a team, 17 shots behind both Idaho and UC Davis.

TENNIS

The UC Irvine men blanked host Fresno State, 7-0 in nonconference action Tuesday.

The Vanguard women defeated Golden State Athletic Conference foe Concordia, 6-3.

The Vanguard men fell, 5-4, to Concordia.
