Toshiba uses recycle project for free admission
The 2009 Toshiba Classic is going green on the green.
The Toshiba “Swing for the Green” Recycling Event, in its second year, will provide the community a free and easy way to responsibly dispose of e-waste. As a thank you, everyone who participates by bringing in an item for recycling will receive two complimentary admission tickets good for any one day of the tournament.
Patrons are encouraged to bring their outdated electronic equipment between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday through March 8 at the main admission gate at the Newport Beach County Club and Newport Dunes.
Products including desktop PCs, laptops, computer monitors, printers, camcorders, fax machines, cell phones, VCRs, DVD players, rechargeable batteries, MP3 players and stereos can be dropped off at either location throughout the event.
Since 2005, Toshiba has participated in over 20 recycling events around the U.S., helping to not only displace recyclable metals, plastics, and glass from reaching local landfills, but also deferring the costs from local citizens.
Not all electronic items will be accepted. Items that will not be accepted include: TVs, microwave ovens, refrigerators, smoke detectors, air conditioners, oscillating fans, desk & floor lamps, small handheld power tools, small personal cosmetic appliances, vacuum cleaners and other major household appliances.
