Bible contradictions explored in class
Neighborhood Congregational Church is offering an opportunity to “Explore the Passion Narratives” with Rev. B.J. Beu. The free, five-week Bible Study class will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesdays through April 1, preceded by a soup supper at 6 p.m. The class is open to all.
Beu will tackle the problem of contradictory Bible scriptures.
In the “Passion Narratives,” following the Last Supper, the gospel accounts vary. “The picture created in each gospel says something different about Jesus, his life, his ministry, and what it means to us,” Beu said.
In the classes, Beu will lead a conversational-style class examining the Passion Narratives side-by-side to find these differences. “Through this study, you will learn a lot about the gospel writers and their unique theological outlooks, but you will also discover the portrait of Jesus you most closely relate to “” the portrait that leads you to understand your own connection with the Great Mystery,” Beu said.
The church is at 340 St. Ann’s Drive. For more information, call (949) 494-8061.
