Sign-ups begin Monday for girls’ basketball league
Sign-ups for the Girls’ Basketball League at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach get underway Monday at the main branch office, 1085 Laguna Canyon Road.
Registration runs through Feb. 27. The league is open to youth grades kindergarten through ninth.
Girls will be taught the skills of the sport, enhance self-esteem and have the opportunity to be part of a team. Weekly, one-hour practices begin March 30. Games will be played starting April 20.
Volunteer opportunities are available for parents interested in coaching teams.
All participants must be members of the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach. Membership fee is $150 per year. Scholarships are available for qualifying families. League fee is $100 per player and includes a new team uniform. Late fee applies after the Feb. 27 cutoff date.
Annual sponsorship opportunities, which support Boys & Girls Club Athletic activities, are available for $500 and include a colorful banner hung in the Club’s gym for one year displaying family or business names.
Each year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Laguna Beach serves nearly 1,500 children ages 5 through 18 living in Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo and the surrounding communities.
