Porn star gets 6 months in prison for tax evasion

A local adult film actress and model was sentenced Monday in Oregon after pleading guilty to willfully failing to pay nearly $300,000 in federal income taxes.

Janine James, 40, is best known for portraying a nurse on the famous cover of a 1999 Blink 182 album, “Enema of the State,” and appearing in music videos for songs from the album.

Authorities said James spent more than $750,000 on homes, vehicles, furniture and a piano, without making any voluntary payments to the IRS.

In a Monday media release, the U.S. Attorney’s office in Eugene, Ore., said James pleaded guilty in August. She was sentenced Monday to six months in federal prison, followed by one year of supervised release. Up to half of the latter must be spent in a residential community corrections center. She also must pay all of her back taxes, which total nearly $300,000.

James, who was known as Janine Lindemulder in the pornography industry, has appeared in “Penthouse” magazine and in dozens of adult films.

She is the former wife of actor and West Coast Choppers owner Jesse James, who now resides in Sunset Beach with his current wife, actress Sandra Bullock.

The two split while James was pregnant with her daughter, Sunny.

James will report to prison March 10.
