Man kills self after renting gun at shooting range
A Huntington Beach man committed suicide inside a local indoor firing range the evening of Dec. 23.
Gregory Escamilla, 35, used a gun he rented from the Firing Line Indoor Shooting range at 17921 Jamestown Lane, said Lt. Gary Faust of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
A range employee called the police at 6:10 p.m. to report the incident.
After renting a gun and purchasing ammunition, Escamilla fired several practice rounds before shooting himself in front of several witnesses, Faust said.
He added that there have been several suicides at the range, which has been in business for many years.
