YOUTH SCENE:

The Wolfpack Blue, a local boys’ Under-12 club soccer team, has secured promotion to Silver Elite by winning the Coast Soccer League Silver South bracket.

Wolfpack Blue won the bracket with a record of 10-2-2. Team members are Devin Anderson, Jeremy Dorff, Austin Emrich, Davis Freud, Connor Gordon, Evan Hill, Jose Huerta, Daniel Klemm, Hunter Kling, Jaiden Lottes, Jake McKinley, Kyle McNeill, Daniel Neff and Max Simon. The team is coached by Jeff Schofield, who also is the boys’ soccer coach at Marina High.

Wolfpack Blue will be in action this weekend at the Nike Harvest Cup in Irvine.

? Inline Hockey

The Penguins used two goals and a defensive shutout in the third period to break away from a tight match against the Hammerheads to post a 4-2 victory in Adams Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Jack Rymer and Evan Munzo both scored in the third period to break a 2-2 tie and secure the win. Goals by Eddie Sarr and Connor McMahan in the first period had given the Penguins a 2-0 lead. Matthew Gomez had 14 saves.

Blake Christiano and Tristan Schuman scored for the Hammerheads and Slater Miller had 17 saves.

Campbell Division

Lightning 5, Red Wings 3: Brandon Washiashi posted three goals for the Lightning, which led from start to finish in defeating the Red Wings.

Wayne Ponce and Savannah Gutierrez each scored once and had an assist and Lindsey Washiashi had an assist.

Dylan Palmer registered 23 saves.

Kameron Christi, Christopher Mauger and Will Miller all scored for the Red Wings. Adam Lang had an assist and Adam Lang had 20 saves.

Norris Division

Flames 3, Free Style 2: The Flames outscored Free Style, 2-0, in the final period to pull out the win.

Trent Sievers scored the first goal for the Flames in the opening period and added a game-clinching goal with 4:07 left in the third period to cap the scoring. Joshua Gramajo also scored and had an assist. Jesse Mellema picked up an assist and Connor Mellema recorded 24 saves.

Levi Pompoco scored once with an assist, Kyle Barrett had a goal and Justin Pichedwatana had 26 saves for Free Style.
