Score a Rose of a package, help city

Want to snag first-class treatment at the Rose Parade and help pay for the city’s Centennial Celebration at the same time?

With a float in the parade, the city received a VIP package that will be auctioned off. The package includes:

 Four tickets to the Rose Parade. Seats are in the VIP Grandstands with a great view of the parade.

 Four tickets to a VIP Tailgate Party.

 Four tickets to the Rose Bowl Game. Seats are between the 40 and 50 yard lines on the west side of the Bowl.

 One parking pass at the Rose Bowl Stadium

The package is estimated to be worth $1,000. The bid as of Monday was $1,100. Bids must increase by increments of at least $100. The money raised will go toward the City’s Centennial Celebration events and activities, including the cost of the float. To bid, go to www.surfcity-hb.org/centennial/ online_auction.cfm.

The bidding will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 18. The winner will be announced Dec. 19.
