POLICE FILES: Resident catches intruder

Newland Street: A resident surprised someone trying to take the screen off of his bedroom window in the 21800 block at 7:25 a.m. Sunday.

AREA 1

Bolsa Chica Street: Someone reportedly tried to rob a resident at knifepoint, but the resident threw a bottle at him and ran. According to reports, the incident took place in an apartment complex in the 16300 block at 10:40 p.m. Saturday.

Clovergreen Lane: An abandoned pickup truck was reported in the 16800 block at 2:39 p.m. Sunday.

Huntington Village Lane: A burglarized car was reported in the 15500 block at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Ellis Avenue and Goldenwest Street: Two trucks racing on Goldenwest Street, repeatedly having near misses with other vehicles, were reported at 6:53 p.m. Sunday.

Summer Breeze Lane: Someone reportedly wrote the graffiti “You suck” on a resident’s property in the 19500 block at 10:43 a.m. Saturday.

Warner Avenue: A sport utility vehicle was reportedly burglarized in the 6600 block at 10:12 a.m. Sunday.

Warner Avenue: Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 5200 block at 7:51 p.m. Friday.

England Street: An abandoned car was reported in the 2500 block at 9:21 a.m. Friday.

Huntington Street: A trespassing squatter who was drunk and would not leave was reported in the 400 block at 6:22 p.m. Sunday.

Huntington Street: A construction company was reportedly burglarized in the 900 block at 9:34 a.m. Friday.

Pacific Coast Highway: A snatched purse was reported in the 21500 block at 12:08 p.m. Sunday.

Adams Avenue and Magnolia Street: A man indecently exposing himself was reported at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

Frederick Circle: Narcotics activity was reported in the 9800 block at 1:09 p.m. Sunday.

Hamden Lane: A car’s windows were reportedly found shot out with a BB gun in the 19100 block at 9:07 a.m. Sunday.

Brookhurst Street: Grand theft was reported in the 17200 block at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Santa Monica Circle: A disturbance involving juveniles was reported in the 17500 block at 3:11 a.m. Saturday.

Goodale Avenue: A stolen vehicle was reported in the 11800 block at 11:50 p.m. Saturday.

Kalama River Avenue: A shoplifter held in store custody was reported in the 10800 block at 3:13 p.m. Saturday.

La Alameda Avenue: Petty theft was reported in the 9900 block at 11:49 a.m. Friday.

Warner Avenue: Vandalism was reported in the 9300 block at 1:40 p.m. Friday.
