Newport Harbor 13, Troy 5
NEWPORT BEACH — Seniors Natalie Small and Jeanne Frei swept No. 1 doubles play for the Sailors, who beat Troy, ranked No. 10 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, Tuesday.
Small and Frei are 24-5 together.
Senior Nelly Radeva, a nationally-ranked player, made her Newport Harbor debut and beat the Troy’s top two singles players.
The Sailors (6-3) open Sunset League at Fountain Valley Thursday at 3 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Kendra Fisher was perfect in sweeping her sets and Ellie Edles dropped just one game in three wins in the Eagles’ Orange Coast League-opening victory at Estancia High Tuesday.
The Eagles also swept in doubles and improved to 7-2.

NEWPORT BEACH — Junior center Matt Russell scored three goals in the Sailors’ nonleague match Tuesday.
Newport Harbor (6-3), ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, led, 7-6, heading into the final period, but Villa Park (8-2), No. 2 in Division II, scored twice to win.
Senior center Zach Osadche scored twice for the Sailors. Goalie Nick Holbrook made 11 saves.
The Sailors play host to University Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Eagles junior Kim Haycraft was medalist with a two-over par 37, helping Estancia beat its cross-town rival in the Golden West League match Tuesday at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda Course.
Also scoring for Estancia (8-2, 3-0 in league) were Ashley Peters (39), Nicole Irigoyen (40), Nushin Tasbihchi (45) and Gina DeArkal (49).
Senior Lindsay Slaney led Costa Mesa (1-2 in league) with a 51.
Estancia has a big league match today against Laguna Beach, at San Clemente Golf Course at 2:30 p.m. The Breakers narrowly won the league title over the Eagles last season.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

COSTA MESA — Senior outside hitter Annie Tomasek finished with 16 kills and six services aces in the Eagles’ 25-20, 25-16, 25-19 nonleague victory Tuesday.
Junior outside hitter Amy Hartwell had eight kills. Junior setter Shona Lamb had 31 assists.
Estancia (9-1) plays host to Irvine Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
University def. Costa Mesa
COSTA MESA — Senior Kim Bjelland had 12 assists but the visiting Trojans swept, 25-8, 25-13, 30-28, on Tuesday at Costa Mesa High.
The Mustangs (4-7) play host to Santa Fe today at 4:30 p.m. Santa Fe is coached by Chris Komer, the former Costa Mesa coach who left two years ago.
