Evelyn was a native Californian born September 14, 1924, and

passed away peacefully on September 24, 2008. Her parents Percival

and Susie Rubidoux were also native Californians of French and

American Indian decent.

Evie was a resident of Newport Beach for 40 years, along with her

husband Robert (Bob) Doner. Evie and Bob first met in her family’s

Mexican food restaurant, The El Comedor, in Fullerton. They fell in

love at first sight and were married in Las Vegas 14 days later! They

were happily married for 56 years.

Evie was a compassionate caring human being with a great sense

of humor. She was a cherished and devoted wife, mother, sister,

grandmother, aunt and friend. She always put others first and

enjoyed contributing her time to The Assistance League and

numerous other charities. She loved needlepoint and shared her

talents generously with family and friends. She also loved to travel.

She and Bob have traveled together to Europe each year for the last

twenty-five years.

Evelyn will be lovingly missed and is survived by her husband

Robert (Bob) Doner and her four children; Mike Doner (Marcela),

Debbie Schweickert (David), Cindy Burnham (John) and Jim Doner

(Joette), Her 11 grand children; Davy, Suzanne, Mikey, Bobby, Chad,

Holly, Ashley, Eric, Ryan, Joey and Matt and her sister-in-law Giselda

Rubidoux.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday October 4th at

10:00 A.M. The Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 1441

W. Balboa , Balboa.
