Girls’ under 14

Frostbite wins, 5-2: Natalie Balgie tapped the first goal of the game, quickly following up by a drive by Shantee Elam. Page Keys had her first assist after crashing the goal on a goal kick, tapped in by Lauren Hanson. Megan Farley and Cortland Clement played well on the other side. Bayley Davidson, Leah Van Dyke and Alex Palmer had a great game as midfielders. In the second half, Charlie Jackson drilled in one from the 18-yard line. Keys had the angle into the goal for the last point, but got another assist after Natalie Balgie tapped it in for insurance. Natalie Teal and Brenda Luna shined on the field as well.

Girls’ under 12

Razzeberry Lemonade 1, Blue Stars 1: The Blue Stars scored the first goal late in the second half against a tough defensive line of Kira Wondrocke, Julieanne Eifler, Bailey Scalzo and Sienna Keillor for the Lemonade. Molly McCuniff scored on an assist by Megan Keys early in the fourth quarter to tie the game. Offensively, Bailey Carr, Kira Ellis-Josch, Brooke Hinton and Hannah Joyce shined. Midfielders Tara Hurket, Samantha Ludes and Natalie Satchell kept the ball up field and out of the net.

Girls’ under 8

The Go-Go’s vs. The Pink All-Star Army Girls: Lauren Titelman scored off a corner kick. Allison Crandell and Caroline Pipkin were seemingly unstoppable with strong footwork. Claire Jeffs and Claire Bacon continued their streak of accurate passing, while Skylar Jacobsen and Carolyn Altshuler held strong in the midfield. Grace Fay and Alina Aguirre kept the other team on their toes by covering the field, all the while exhibiting their exquisite skills.

Girls’ under 10

Raptors 3, Sharks 2: In the first quarter Raptors goalie Rebecca Szulga made four great saves and teammate Carly Cox scored the first goal of the game. In the second quarter the Raptors’ McKenna Carroll scored a great goal by placing the ball perfectly in the corner. Raptors goalie Kathryn Peters contributed two saves. The Raptors couldn’t keep Clara Eddy from scoring the first Shark goal. Libby Larner had an amazing attempt on goal in the third quarter and showed some hustle out on the field however, the Sharks third quarter goalie did not allow any Raptor scores. The Raptors final score was made by Hailey Munguia.

Boys’ under 10

Green Geckos 5, Surf 5: The Green Geckos overcame a 4-1 halftime deficit. Sam Leaman scored the first goal for the Geckos. However, after the half, the Geckos played stronger. Hunter Hall and Griffin Brockhoff scored two goals each. Sam Wertheimer defended against several goals and Daniel Knapp continually picked himself up after being knocked down. Oliver Ressler, Evan Wicks and Eaan McKasson combined to form a mighty defense. Ryan Myers, a key Gecko defender, was absent and missed the action.

United 4, Trojans 2: Captains John Rankin and Jack Pitchess led the Trojans. United jumped in front during the first quarter on clever goals by Pitchess and Jack Sandy. Jackson Wind won several balls and challenged opponents up front, as did Colin Avary and John Shepherd in the back for the Trojans. Lukas Thompson anchored the Trojans’ left side against strong attackers. Lucas Mowery and Brady Scanlan shared goalkeeping duties and denied the Trojans countless times throughout the match.

NB Arsenal 2, Back Bay Surf 2: Jack Christensen worked hard in the goal for all four quarters. Dylan Wolfe and Reid Crandell led the defense with quick feet and great stops and turns. Henry Adams and Reef Kugies also made some key defensive plays. Max Lamb and Jaegger Mitchell displayed some fast dribbling to move the Arsenal ball down the field, as did both Joseph Fuller and Jack McClintock who each had numerous shots on goal and put one each into the net in the second half.
