Newport Mavericks v. Huntington Beach (BU12 Plus)

The win put the Mavericks at two wins and no losses for the season and atop the standings one point ahead of Tustin whom they will face this coming Saturday at Mariners. The Mavericks refused to look ahead to Tustin, the team which handed them their only loss last fall. Rather their 60 minutes of pressure against Huntington Beach enabled Caleb O’Neil , Riley Gaddis, Christian Watson and Sawyer Farmer to net their first goals of the season with assists from Chas Beek and Peter Seidner. Strong defense from Dominik Folkner and keeper Ryan Braun preserved the shut-out. Meanwhile, the mid-field was controlled by Kevin Tellez, Ben Bockrath, Jack Binford, Jake Parks, and Baron Davis.
