CMHS hosts youth cheer clinic
This week the CMHS cheerleaders held a youth clinic for girls ages 4-13. The girls learned basic cheers, a dance and tumbling, jumping and stunting skills.
The four-day clinic was held at the high school and the girls were entertained and taught by the award-winning squad. The young girls looked up to these role models and were very impressed with their skills. The clinic attendees received cheer shirts, ribbons, pictures and a certificate of participation as well as performed for their parents on the last day. They also will have the opportunity to perform at the Halecrest Chili cook off on Aug. 23 and will perform at a home CMHS football game at the new Scott Stadium.
The CMHS cheerleaders were impressed with the young girls and their motivation to cheer! The cheerleaders host several youth clinics through out the year, both at the high school and at the local elementary schools. This is one of their favorite events because they are helping to pave the way for the future of Costa Mesa High Schools Cheer Program.
