Foul play not suspected in death of woman found on beach
The body of a 61-year-old resident was found on the shore of Huntington State Beach this weekend, police said.
A man walking the beach reported finding the body of Mary-Lu Taylor, Huntington Beach, in the surf near lifeguard Tower 10 at 5:52 a.m. Saturday. The body was found fully clothed, and authorities discovered Taylor’s car in a nearby parking lot.
The Orange County Coroner performed an autopsy but did not release a cause of death, pending further investigation.
Police don’t suspect foul play at this point, Lt. Dave Bunetta said.
“It’s a drowning,” he said. “There isn’t anything suspicious at this point that we’re looking into.”
Still, police are still looking into the cause of Taylor’s death, he said.
