Junior firefighters’ camp registration is open

Registration is now open for the Junior Firefighter Camp at Mariners Park, where Newport Beach firefighters will teach kids, 9 to 13 years old, the profession of firefighting.

Participants can choose to sign up for one of two sessions. The class is from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 18 through 22, or 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 25 through 29.

Learning will be hands-on and interactive during the classes, which are limited to 30 kids.

The fee for the program is $100.
