The day started with overcast and muggy weather, with sunshine and southwest winds about 10 mph predicted. Photographers going out on the water predicted good photos while it is overcast. Photos will be posted on the website daily.

Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, with Will Ryan at the helm and St. Thomas Yacht Club, with helmsman Taylor Canfield, each have four wins as the racing begins, with only the defending champion Newport Harbor Yacht Club team undefeated. They will be the boats to beat today.

With good racing conditions, only two matches needed to be completed, as most of the boats started into the dock. They will be greeted at a festive reception for members and guests of Balboa Yacht Club, hosted by Tommy Bahamas.

After ten flights, NHYC is still undefeated, and CYCA has lost only to NHYC, so is close behind with nine wins. St.TYC lost to CYCA, NHYC and San Diego Yacht Club so has seven wins and three losses as we go into the final flight in this round robin series, which will be held at the start of racing on Saturday. Planned racing for Saturday includes a repechage for places three through six, and a consolation round for places seven through twelve. The top four teams will be selected after the repechage by Saturday afternoon. Those four teams will race on Sunday to decide the final standings as well as the ultimate winning team. The Awards Ceremony will be held on the Flag Deck as soon as practicable after racing on Sunday.
