Ojai Valley tournament
OJAI — It was a devastating day for locals at the 108th annual tournament, completed Sunday at Libbey Park.
Corona del Mar High product Wesley Miller, a junior at Arizona State, lost in the Pac-10 invitational singles final, 7-6, 7-6, to Bozhidar Katsarov of Cal.
Orange Coast College freshman Brittany Bass lost to Vanessa Reibstein of Grossmont, 6-0, 6-0, in the community college women’s singles final.
Bass and freshman teammate Brittnie Furuvald were defeated, 6-3, 6-3, by Reibstein and Brianna McClintock in the doubles final.
In women’s open doubles, Cierra Gaytan-Leach, a Corona del Mar resident, teamed with Pamela Montez of La Quinta to lose to Judith Devera and Dianne Matais, 7-6, 6-4, in the final.

MPSF Tournament
SAN DIEGO — Corona del Mar High product Brittany Fullen, a junior goalie, had seven saves to help top-ranked UCLA edge No. 3-ranked USC, 8-7, in the final of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament Sunday at San Diego State.
UCLA, which includes junior Anne Belden out of Newport Harbor High, held off a strong effort by the Trojans, who were paced by Corona del Mar High product Tumua Anae. Anae, a sophomore goalie, had a career-high 14 saves.
Kally Lucas, a former Newport Harbor standout, as well as junior Jordan Anae, another CdM product, each had a goal for USC.
The USC roster also includes Katie Indvik, a freshman out of CdM High.

SAN DIEGO — The Anteaters let a 5-4 lead slip away in the ninth-place game of the MPSF Tournament Sunday at San Diego State.
Sophomore Kat Plummer had two goals and senior Lauren Machanis had 10 saves as the Anteaters concluded their season 15-12.

Big West Tournament
INDIAN WELLS — Long Beach State clinched a 4-0 victory over UC Irvine in the title match Sunday at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
The 49ers won the first three singles matches completed and won both doubles matches that were played to conclusion to capture their sixth conference title in seven seasons.
Coach Mike Edles’ Anteaters, who reached the final in four of the last seven seasons, finish the season 16-9.
UCI will say goodbye to seniors Becky Bernhard, Inna Agababian, Jessica Broadfoot and Lisa Shih.
