405 construction to cause temporary lane closures
Construction to widen Fairview Road and the 405 Freeway interchange will begin this weekend, prompting temporary lane closures on the freeway over the next several weekends.
Traffic on Fairview Road itself will not be affected, the project’s construction engineer Wally Carroll said.
Workers will pile drive large concrete beams into the ground to expand Fairview’s bridge over the freeway, closing the southbound carpool lane, and the northbound carpool lane, one and two lanes during 7 a.m. to noon today and Sunday. Construction will continue on weekend mornings until it is complete, Carroll said.
Construction will also begin on the widening of the Fairview Road southbound on-ramp to the 405, but that is unlikely to affect traffic.
