Katy Chambers
Katy Chambers
1922-2008
Long time Laguna Beach and Dana Point resident Katy Chambers died on March 24, 2008. She was a recognized inspirational teacher of elementary children in the Dana Point Elementary School system for over twenty-five years.
Katy was also an avid reader and student in subjects as diverse as politics, culture and spiritual enrichment. Katy lost her first husband in WWII and her second husband, Jim, in a plane crash in 1964. Three of Katy’s five sons died unexpectedly. Through all of these personal upheavals, Katy remained dedicated to inspiring others. She was an independent soul and lived without assistance until August, 2007. She endured, yet radiated positivity.
She was respected and loved. Katy touched the lives of hundreds of children and the hearts of countless close acquaintances. She is survived by her comforting memory. As we grieve, we celebrate: brother, Charles Macdonald; sons, Chris Chambers and Andy Chambers; grandchildren, Cheyne, Cody, Annie and Jesse Chambers.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church in Dana Point at 11:00am on Saturday April 19th, 2008.
