LONG BEACH — Junior Storm Sagen shot two-over-par 36 to become the medalist for the Eagles in their season opener Wednesday at El Dorado Golf Course.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sea Kings tied a school-low team score first set in 1998 in a nonleague match at Newport Beach Country Club Wednesday.

The course has been the Sea Kings’ home course ever since 1964, when it was still known as Irvine Course Country Club.

Three CdM golfers shot a one-over-par 36: Taylor Keddington, Connor Corrigan, and Josh Starnes. Camden Nicholson shot 37, and Jeff Jones 38 for the Sea Kings (0-2).

NEWPORT BEACH — The Lightning opened the season with a loss Tuesday.

Sage Hill sophomore James Chai shot 43, and junior Steve Choi followed with 48. Freshman Jared Hoffman shot 49, sophomore Alex Maliwang shot 50, junior Mac Mace shot 54.
