FULLERTON — Corona del Mar High’s Dan Carlson won the 145-pound division title at the Orange County Freshman Championships Saturday at Sunny Hills.
Nick Delgado placed second in the heavyweight division to help the Sea Kings finish eighth out of 30 teams.
Corona del Mar’s Max Priestly (171 pounds) and Landon Carpenter (160) and Doug Tan (152) all earned fifth-place finishes, while Michael Salam (189) and Dan Steele (140) were both seventh.
“This is a great freshman class,” said Corona del Mar varsity coach Gary Almquist, who noted he was also proud of coaches Robbie Richie and Bejan Amahdi.
