COSTA MESA — Sophomore guard Greg Scott and senior center Arvydas Vaitiekus each scored 19 points for the Lions, who held on for the Golden State Athletic Conference win Tuesday.
Scott had a team-high 10 assists and Vaitiekus a team-high nine rebounds for Vanguard (10-4, 4-2 in conference), which won despite behind outscored, 53-34, in the second half. Sophomore Dennis Heenan, a Newport Harbor High product, had 12 points — all coming on four three-pointers — for the Lions.
Guard Chris Neal poured in a game-high 38 points for San Diego Christian (4-10, 1-5).

COSTA MESA — Senior Jessica Richter scored 19 points to lead the Lions, who won their 52nd Golden State Athletic Conference regular-season game Tuesday.
Senior Melissa Cook added 14 points and senior Lindsey Rinke scored 12 for Vanguard (10-2, 6-0 in conference). Cook led the Lions with 12 rebounds and Richter had 11.
