Men’s group helps homeless with wreath sale fundraiser
The Men’s Cursillo Group at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church raised $4,000 for Serving People In Need this holiday season. SPIN is an organization dedicated to assisting low-income and homeless people by providing financial assistance for housing costs.
The Cursillo’s 12-member group sold fresh, 22-inch noble fir wreaths decorated with pine cones, cedar and juniper for $20 each. The fundraiser was so successful the men said they will do it again next year.
For more than 10 years, the men’s group has been dedicated to helping and supporting programs at the organization.
They have picked up and stored donated furniture in the SPIN warehouse and created a coat drive that began at Our Lady Queen of Angels parish and now includes other parishes throughout the county.
For more information on SPIN, call (714) 751-1101, ext. 12.
