Snipers secure 7-3 win

The Snipers opened up a three-goal lead in the second period and used that advantage to take down the Red Bulls, 7-3, in Bantam Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Leading the Snipers in scoring were Matt Korn and Jordan Bennett with two goals each.

Ben Piontkowski, David Schenker and Justin Cutchon each scored once. Eric Grant was in on two assists and Korn, Bennett, Schenker and Michael Gutierrez each had an assist.

Christopher Corona recorded an astounding 51 saves.

Matt Braun posted two goals to go along with an assist for the Red Bulls.

Kevin Christi scored a goal, Bobby Sowma and Jamie Schlegel each had an assist.

Casey Childers had 25 saves.

Militia 11, Young Guns 11

The teams went to overtime where they each scored once to end the match in a tie score.

K.C. Groon, Christopher Lowry and Mark Miller led the Militia in scoring with three goals apiece, with Coon scoring his final goal in the overtime shootout.

Shea Doyle and Jared Hackworth scored single goals. Hackworth also had three assists; Hackworth, Dario Torres and Kourtney Kunichika each had two assists, and Groon and Doyle each had an assist.

Brandon Jones finished with 28 saves.

Colten Daigneault’s four goals and three goals and three assists from Austin Shannon paced the Young Guns offense. Tyler Lakes scored twice and had two assists and Jeffrey Wong scored once.

Brian Daigneault had a pair of assists, and Robert Oliver and Brent Shaver each had an assist.
