Kaos keep Ducks afloat
The Ducks picked up a win in Adams Division play by defeating the Maple Leafs, 4-3, at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Justin Kao’s first-period goal gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead. Christina Kao scored the final three goals for the Ducks. Geoffrey Campbell had 16 saves.
Brandon Washiashi, Tristan Shults and Alexander Hessing scored for the Maple Leafs. Natalie Trujillo recorded 19 saves.
In other Adams Division action:
Pirates 3, Sharks 3
The Pirates took a 3-1 lead, but the Sharks scored two to tie.
Andrew McConnell scored twice, Jagger Kenady had a goal and assist, and Jacob Fisk was in on three assists for the Pirates.
Lily Humphrey had 17 saves.
Chase Hoglund, Jackson Etheredge and Jeremy Morgan scored for the Sharks. Geoffry Lindgren and Brandon Yamasaki each had an assist, and Matthew Gomez had 15 saves.
In Smythe Division playoff action:
Swat 3, Fusion 2
Swat outscored Fusion 3-0 in the final period for the win.
Kyle Breznau, Trenton Shehan, Carl Swanson and Joe Gibb scored for Swat. Daniel Patzlaff had two assists, and Gibb had one assist. Brandon Wagoner had 19 saves.
Alexander Taros and Aaron Maccabi scored for Fusion, and Colin Reyes had an assist. Chris Hernandez had 37 assists.
Beach Boys 5, Predators 2
The Beach Boys scored the final three goals of the match to pull away from the Predators.
Robert Wirth scored twice to lead an offensive that included single goals by Weston Bechtold, Kevin Ozeretny and Logan Bechtold, two assists from Chandler Clark and one each from Weston Bechtold, Logan Bechtold and Kyle Kowalski.
Jadin Press had 21 saves.
Jake Shaylor scored both goals for the Predators with Nolan Strout assisting on both plays.
