CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Susan Moheimani scored 14 points for the Sea Kings in their nonleague game Wednesday night.

Freshman Kayla Marolt was also in double figures with 10 points for Corona del Mar (7-10). CdM juniors Brittany Rhyme and Jessica Brockett, as well as sophomore Katie Bergsma scored six points each.

The Sea Kings face Newport-Mesa District foe Estancia Friday at 7 p.m. at CdM.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors shut out the Barons in the first half en route to a Sunset League-opening win Wednesday at Newport Harbor.

Seniors Elizabeth Wheeler and Kimmy Morrison, as well as junior Nicolina McCall scored two goals each for the Sailors (9-1). Wheeler and Kaliegh Gilchrist had two assists each. Senior Mimi Bury, bound for Stanford, led Harbor with three steals.

The Sailors will play at El Toro Friday at 10 a.m.

Senior Will Reichenstein, who played goalie for 60 minutes, recorded four saves, and senior Eric Guevera finished at the net with three saves for Newport Harbor (2-7-1).

The Sailors play at Esperanza Friday 5 p.m.
